Bucky tenses, waiting for the disgust to saturate Sam’s face at the reminder of the metal arm and all of the carnage Bucky wrought with it. The disgust never comes.Sam’s hand slips up higher instead, so that the pad of his thumb can gently brush the warm skin at the nape of Bucky’s neck. Bucky shivers, eyes falling shut. Bucky is warm and solid when he reaches out for Sam, hands gentle as he pulls Sam close, and Sam is too exhausted to question anything, just lets himself be tucked against Bucky’s side, head on his chest. Bucky tugs the sheets up and over them without a word.Sam breathes out shakily, fingers curling into Bucky’s shirt, and closes his eyes again.
