Set a few weeks before the Young Hercules movie. Iolaus is living on the streets but shows up at Alcmene's door in need of someone to talk to. “Hello, Alcmene,” the teenage boy said with a weak attempt at a smile. He looked nervous, almost skittish — nothing like the normally confident charm she remembered so fondly. Ignoring his visage, she smiled broadly. “What a pleasant surprise,” she said, fully meaning it. Seeing him here again lit a spark of hope in her, despite his bad timing. She gave him an apologetic smile. “Hercules isn’t here, he—” “I know,” Iolaus interrupted, shifting his stance awkwardly. “I saw him leave. It’s– I came to see you.”

When Alcmene and Amphitryon find Hercules, they take pity on him and instantly fall in love with him. They decide to adopt him and raise him, because they had been trying to have a child for years and praying to the gods, but that never happened. And now, instead, they have received the greatest gift, the one they had waited so long for. The love they feel for each other and vice versa is very deep, immense and has no boundaries, its magic unites them. But they certainly do not expect the little one to have this incredible strength. How will they react? In this poem I wanted to tell how the two adoptive parents felt when they found Hercules and what Alcmena and Amphitryon felt afterwards as well.Disclaimer: The characters do not belong to me, but are the property of Disney.

“What was that old legend again? The one about those dragons and pigs, where they had a war and everything was weird?” The young boy looked into his fathers mint eyes, which were sparkling in joy and curiosity.“Haven’t I told you that old myth over a hundred times already, son?” The father looked at his small boy who sat on his leg, while he, the dad, sat in his chair of book reading. The boy’s emerald eyes saddened, and the father softened at the sad boy.He sighed. “Alright,” the father said. “Sit down, this will take a while…” Or, a legend as old as time is told in a fairytale, but this legend is not as fake as you may think.Perhaps this thousand year old story was more than a myth at one time, or maybe…It was always a story.
