He was not handsome; he had a plain, hangdog sort of face, with shaggy mousy blonde hair. The prettiest thing about him were his eyes, which were a pleasing, cornflower blue. He had stubble on his jaw and above his upper lip; not a proper beard, but enough to give the semblance of one. It did not age him; if anything, it heightened how baby smooth the rest of his complexion was in comparison. “Good evening,” she said, which was the standard greeting.“Good evening,” he intoned back, in a voice deeper than usual- she could tell- and his thin lips twitched. He had a smirky looking mouth that should have been off putting, but he dimpled when he broke into a bemused grin. That took away some of the hangdog; he was almost cute.
