Set a year and a half on from the events of Assassin's Quest. Fitz, Kettricken and Chade find a way to restore Verity to human form. But the task leaves Fitz broken in mind and body. World weary, Fitz withdraws to his cabin in the woods to live in isolation for several months until King Verity seeks him out and drags him back to Buckkeep.---Verity was my absolute favourite character of the series and I just couldn't get enough of these two. So here is the Fitz & Verity centered fic I always wanted read, but could never find. Where Verity gets his happy ending and finally has enough time to help our boy Fitz deal with his host of PTSD and abandonment issues. SLOOOW paced exploration of Fitz and Verity's relationship. There's also a bit of a Chade exploration in there too. (And yes spoilers because that's basically what all fanfiction is ;) )

Set during Royal Assassin between chapters 17 and 18. Fitz is given a spying mission by Chade, who suspects that someone is leaking information to the Outislanders. Fitz ends up spying on the Fool out of curiosity, but ends up with more questions than answers. Boy!Fool in this one, at least as far as Fitz knows. I cannot promise regular updates, but none of my stories will ever simply die. Now with more Fool, come chapter six!

** Title change, because Concerning the Avalanche that Began with the Pebble was a mouthful**Sequel to Concerning Love And Plumbing. The time for Dutiful to journey to the Outislands and slay the dragon Icefyre has come, but things are not as they could have been. The pebble has done its job and new plots are simmering that could jeopardize not only the quest, but Farseer rule in the Six Duchies. There is contention among the nobility and the divide between the duchies that began during the Red Ship War has become apparent once again. Fitz must navigate the currents of politics while keeping the rumours of his identity from destroying him. Unfortunately, his faith in his compass, the Fool, is wavering while he struggles with the changes in their relationship.

For Fitz, The Fool has always been just that – The Fool. However, when Fitz witnesses an unpleasant scene at the castle, he begins to wonder how easily one can overlook another's loneliness and what it really means to be lonely. In the snow-covered Buckkeep, a friendship slowly grows out of misunderstandings, emotional distance and difficult memories, unveiling a deep sorrow hidden behind the mask of humor.

Based on ROTE Discord prompt 3/13 “The letter lay untouched on his desk, its creases marked by dust.” I decided to go back to Fitz's childhood training for this one.
