If he had to choose someone to fight beside him, Jason would choose the Son of Poseidon time and time again. It was just that Percy seemed to be so much more than Jason—so much better. Jason couldn't help but feel as though he had been measured and found lacking compared to the other demigod. Percy, on the other hand, likes Jason well enough, but between recovering from Tartarus, the war, school, and life in general, he didn't tend to think of the Son of Jupiter often. He was an ally, someone he could fight beside and trust, but that was about the extent of it. A road trip together to pick up a new demigod and bring them back to camp changes things. Or, how Percy and Jason went from friendly allies, to actual friends.
