Cor doesn't rescue Prompto from Niflheim as an infant: He rescues him at seventeen, when MT!Prompto is left for dead on a battlefield. This then becomes the most dad fic of all dad fics. Dad levels are off the charts. No going back. A fill for the kinkmeme! (It's already done, so updates will be quick!)

Prompto and Noctis are soulmates, joined together by the fading magic of a Crystal lost long ago. The magic causes soulmates to share scars, though not every mark is permanent and most scars fade almost as soon as they appear. When Prompto's codeprint is seared onto Noctis' wrist and doesn't disappear like all the marks before it, their fates are sealed and their souls are irreversibly linked, changing the carefully laid plans of those in power, both mortal and immortal.A story told in three parts, starting with their childhood and spanning across time to adulthood.

Set in the AU where sweet, bubbly Prompto did not escape the circumstances of his birth. Raised in Niflheim to become a daemon-infused, mechanically enhanced super soldier until obtained by Cor Leonis at the age of approximately 11, Prompto struggles to adjust to life in Lucis. He can barely understand what's expected of him day to day, let alone begin thinking of things over the long term. The adults around him are struggling too, unable to find a way through Niflheim's psychological conditioning to the scared kid they want to help rehabilitate. As the weeks drag on without notable improvement, they are forced to consider more radical actions.

Prompto wakes up to morning sun shining through the window of his crappy flat. It may or may not take him a solid 5 minutes to realise that there was something wrong with this image. They were both alive. They were alive and together and it was before everything had gone to shit. They had a second chance.
