The two really don't realize how similar they are. The more time they spend together, the more they understand just how dependent they can really be. The more they understand how good of a thing that might be.

As Hat Kid got older, she also started to lose some interest in the stuff she did before and got more curious about stuff that adults did. How they smoked cigarettes between their breaks, drank stuff that made them act either in a silly or an idiotic manner, things like that.Maybe the adventurer/researcher part of her was acting up, but Hat Kid had grown to have a huge urge to personally test these things adults do. Just test, nothing more.So with all the current knowledge, it wouldn’t be so hard to fulfill her curiosity.Oh, how wrong she was.
