villainous thing

by Some_Dead_Guy

She startles awake to the sound of Hooty yelling, abruptly sucking her out of the half-asleep state she had been in. She grabs her glyphs on instinct, one of the stacks of paper she leaves around her room for easy access. When she finds Hooty, he has the door wide open and the body of a teenage boy slumped against the doorframe. A boy who is swathed in red from blood and grasping onto his staff like it’s the only thing keeping him from face planting. And as Luz walks closer, the light of the moon catches on platinum blonde hair and she suddenly realizes that it’s The Golden Guard in the doorway. Or, Hunter, his Palisman, and the wild witches who took him in.

The Owl House (Cartoon)

little bird who fell from the nest

by PurpleCatGhost

Within the woods, Darius can finally hear a loud rustling getting closer and rapidly approaching their location. Eberwolf shifts, sharp teeth outgrowing their mouth and sticking out in different directions. Darius morphs one of his arms into a sickle, keeping it at the ready in case of a fight. The moment it finally bursts from the trees and into their clearing, they’re all ready to strike. The unknown variable however, trips over a stray root just before and ends up stumbling and falling to the ground. Darius catches sight of an all too familiar yellow outfit with blonde hair and immediately reverses his transformation. His hand shoots out— warning Raine and Eberwolf not to strike— and they both freeze in place. The Golden Guard lays before them, shaking violently and struggling to so much as sit up with how badly his arms tremble. However upon realizing he’s not alone, he nearly throws himself on his back and scrambles, head wildly snapping to each and every one of them. His eyes are filled with absolute terror and it pains Darius to see it. (Or, Post-Hollow Mind, Darius, Raine, and Eberwolf find Hunter in the woods. They deal with the aftermath of Hunter finding out the truth about his so-called uncle.)

it was never in the snow

by phoeeling (mimdecisive)

She doesn’t want to leave him or Luz alone for a minute. The blank, haunted expressions they wear makes her want to wrap them up, tightly, in a blanket and make them both some hot cocoa. (And she’d make some for King, obviously, so he wouldn’t feel left out or jealous.)  If Hunter didn’t look like he was ready to climb out a window, she’d probably do just that.   Hunter runs off. Hunter is followed. Hunter is promptly adopted.

Effortlessly My Baby

by Kohpon

The boy behind the mask did not exist. He was nothing but a shell, a pawn to be used in a cruel man’s dangerous game. That was the only reason he was alive, the only reason he was allowed to take up space in a world that otherwise would refuse him, discarding him as if he were nothing more than a broken toy. The boy behind the mask was not worth anyone’s attention, worth anyone’s love, and he had been conditioned to believe that as fact since the day he was born. And yet it wasn’t true. Despite all odds, there would always be at least one person in the world who considered him more than deserving of their love, whose heart he had burrowed himself so far into that it would be impossible to disentangle himself. No matter how long it took, how difficult of a task it would be, Darius would make sure to change his mind because even if no one else in the world loved him, Darius would. That was the only fact Hunter needed to believe.---An AU where Darius meets and starts bonding with Hunter 2 years before canon events. It's a bonding fic. They bond.
