(This might get a rewrite soon cause it was the first fic for this AU that I wrote so some things aren't cohesive now!) Achilles loved Deidamia at first sight. Now, he couldn't explain to her that something between them hadn't clicked since Neo turned two. Instead, he wanders around parties. Around town. And he's more unbearable than usual. Lost in his own emotions (which he's not good at dealing with), he pretends he doesn't care and falls into the arms of his best friend. At first, they said it was just a joke, adrenaline, alcohol. But the joke stops being funny for Patroclus, who's loved his friend since high school and doesn't neccesarily want to be a dirty secret.

Pyrrha - A Play

A play loosely based on the 18th century operetta “Achilles in Petticoats,” but removing the songs, replacing Roman names with Greek ones, substituting Patroclos in the place of a character invented for the operetta, reducing the misogyny as much as possible, giving the title character some actual agency, adding a mythologically accurate (sort of) subplot, and dispensing with the original’s disgustingly non-climactic, pat, heteronormative ending with one that’s a little more satisfying dramatically and not so hetero. It may be worth noting that I first wrote this play back in 2015, and have little revisited it since (and have not revisited its original since at all) though I did make some edits before posting it here. (As the central conceit of the original myth, the operetta and this new version all center around a teenage boy dressed as a girl, there are many ways the story may offend people. For this reason, the entire first chapter is dedicated to the possible problems, so please read that if any of this subject matter might be sensitive for you. The actual play starts in chapter two.)

This is an Illiad fic but with a high school+ rock band AU, it’s centered around Achilles(lead singer) and he tries to win Deidamias heart over again after an “accident” but while also realizing his feelings his feelings for his long best friend and band member Patroclus(drummer) and figuring out what to do. And Odysseus(lead guitarist) won’t take anything seriously and loves drama and Diomedes(bassist) is trying not to strangle him, and Menelaus(manager/rhythm guitarists) is a tired single mother of the four.
