Rimuru gets curious as to why Diablo is so obsessed with serving him. Not that it's out of the ordinary — as awkwardly narcissistic as it made him feel, at this point he's kind of gotten used to the constant bowing — but considering the sheer power of the guy, he can't help but wonder what his deal is.(Mild character study, mostly fluff. Canon compliant to the current chapters of the manga and anime.)

Or more precisely, his illness. Demons are immune to all diseases and sickness except one. The hanahaki disease. The curse cast by Veldanava himself. And who is this lucky (unlucky?) maiden you ask? Why it's the Great Demon Lord Rimuru himself. For context, hanahaki disease is a disease that is caused by requited love. It makes the person in love incredibly ill (coughing up flower petals and blood) and mostly results in death. In my version though, the cure is a bit different :).
