And just when he thinks it couldn't get any worse, feelings are starting to form. Feelings that he neither knows how to deal with nor wants to have in the first place. And that's not even the worst to come.Or:This technically is the movie written out of Blade's perspective with his thoughts and feelings and a few scenes from inbetween.

So this is based on a headcannon where Skipper taught Dusty a special kind of military salute(one that large military planes like Cabbie would use since they can't fold their wings up into a salute) that he would begin using before they took off on their training sessions. Well, one day on the Piston Peak Air Attack base Dusty does it to Cabbie and it leaves him 100% baffled as to where this young plane learned such a thing.

Dusty pulled a banking turn to avoid smashing into the canyon wall. 'I... I did it! I saved them!' He thought. "Dusty!" He heard Blade call out. He turned and saw the stern, no-nonsense helicopter giving him a rare smile. "Good move, partner." 'That's the highest praise I can get from him...' Dusty realized, before everything went to the pits. In other words, this book is a mix of what I think happened immiediately following Dusty's crash; what Harvey and Winnie thought when they found out; Ryker's investigation into why the fire got so bad; and Propwash's reaction to his crash. Also, I will attempt to write this completely in 3rd Person.

Dusty was used to things not going his way, it was the story of his whole life basically. So the fact that something else had gone wrong wasn't surprising, the fact that it hadn't even waited for the dust to settle from his crash was. Unfortunately this current issue couldn't be dealt with in the usual 'ignore it and it will go away' manner and he'll have to finally face a problem completely head on.
