"By the time I finally caught up with them, a young woman, a cobbler’s apprentice from Trieux, had already freed them.” He goes on to add that the breaking of the curse "involved love of a sort—and the girl did fall in love with one of my generals.”Here's my attempt at filling in the sketchy details. :)Those of you participating in Inktober will recognize several of the prompts worked throughout the story.
