When it’s feeling kind, the space between the stars likes to whisper Ranboo’s name. It treats him like an old friend, and maybe it is and he’s just forgotten - calls him beloved, murmurs to him about dreams long and short. It reminds him of a meme Tubbo showed him once, from off-world, about two full moons and the night blinking back at you; in the post it was only polite to return the greeting of the Big Night Cat, but Ranboo is far too afraid to raise his voice at the naked truth between the stars.Everything you need is within you, says the sky that should be impassive but is instead impossibly loving, so loving that the sheer enormity of it feels too much for Ranboo’s eyes, mortal and two-toned and somehow not burning. Or: Ranboo is called to the table in the Syndicate meeting-room, and he doesn't know why. The eyes in it match his own. Also, the universe speaks to him in its spare time.

I am fascinated by text-to-film adaptions, and the screenwriter’s choices here brought up some interesting possibilities for discussion of emotion, character conflict, and moral complexity.
