an exercise in playing god

there’s a new farmer in town.within the day, people are talking about them. their name is dropped in conversation all over the town, curious and wary all at once. all of them have met them. none of them remember it, but they have met them. after all, the mayor has already congratulated them on doing all their introductions. everyone knows their name—even those who didn’t care for rumors.(sebastian has not left his room since the farmer arrived. not once has his door come unlocked; not once has he had a visitor.they’ve met, though. of course they have.) (the farmer is a strange one. where do they keep getting all these things, anyway?)
