Apparently some things were too ingrained. The only difference now was that he understood. Take his hand movements for example. They were signals, necessary for safety and procedure. (He kept looking to his side, expecting to see Emmett there.) (There was always a crushing weight on his heart when he realized that Emmett wasn’t here in Hisui with him.) (Ash falls back in time to Hisui. There’s always an obstacle or two that blocks your way home.)
