Written as the opening to an academic paper. I wanted to make sure I could "tell the story" of this queer contextual reading of Jonah, and it turns out I can. God is kind of a dick in this one, but God's kind of a dick in canon (at least in Jonah), so...

“Jonah Magnus.” The cloudy silhouette snarled as it’s hand clamped tightly around Jonah's ascot. That was indeed his name, but Jonah couldn’t begin to fathom what he did to have it spat out with such hatred. But nonetheless, Jonah was a gentleman and he would kindly address the angry figure as politely as possible, “Yes, and you are?”“What?” The form spluttered as it slowly came into focus. Ah, yes. That probably wasn’t the proper response to being held at gunpoint by a random stranger. Must have been the blow to his head. (Or in which Jonathan Sims goes back in time and tries to pull a Terminator, but fails and Jonah Magnus finds a new mystery to solve.)

He’s tugging a grey sweater on over his head and nearly out his bedroom door when he sees TJ’s beanie sitting on his desk where he’d dropped it the night before. It’s gonna be cold out, he rationalized, pulling the beanie on over his hair that he’d spent no time fixing, plus he needs to give it back anyway. Two birds, one stone.

Killing Jonah Magnus hadn’t changed anything. Not for the world, at least. It had changed everything for Elias Bouchard. And now he's going to be the one to make a few changes. What if...what if I combined my favorite niche genres of TMA fic into ONE fic, like one OG!Elias time travel fix-it fic, would that be f*cked up or what

What if Adam’s journey into the basement had a different outcome? What if he realized the role designed for him before he lost his grasp of self? What if him and Jonah leave that house together?AkaAdam finds out he has been an alternate this whole time, that he isn’t the ‘real’ Adam Murray, who was stolen away as a small child and replaced by him. However, instead of falling and losing himself, Adam runs back to Jonah and the car.Things shift from there as Adam tries to come to terms with this new information and the resulting changes this has on him while Jonah tries to figure out what happened in that basement to make the other begin to act so strangely

Jonah tries to kill Jon. Basically shameless Jon whump and a rescue because this fic came fully-formed into my brain and wouldn't leave me alone until I wrote it. “Stay where you are,” Jonah commands. The words boil at their edges. It is, at once, a threat and a compulsion. Resisting feels like…like Jonah has a firm grip on one half of his brain, and Jon has the other half, and they’re both pulling in opposite directions. The pressure in his skull is pounding. His vision flashes, and he tastes blood. He wouldn’t think himself capable of being compelled, not now, not that he’s the Archivist. But evidently, he would be wrong about that. His legs want to lock up, want to stay planted firmly on the floor. But he fights with them, forces them to move. He makes for the door, his hand outreached… “I said…” A hand locks around Jon’s arm with a vice-grip. “Stay!” His fist connects with the place where Jon’s ribs once were. Now that they’re gone, the hit lands harder, deeper. Knocking the breath out of his lungs. He staggers and drops to one knee, the compulsion surging through him, keeping him locked in place.
