Red ashes

by Between_stars_and_Nebula

Kodos destroyed half a world. 4000 settlers dead. He destroyed his life as a 13-year-old child, he haunted his worst nightmares, fueled virulent phobias, compromised his future. And that of so many other people.... If there is anyone Jim Kirk hates beyond reason, it is this man.But Kodos has also just thrown himself in front of him to take the death ray in his place. He saved his life.In great novels, this is enough to atone for the villain's fault. The ultimate sacrifice. But for Jim, it's the start of a long night of nightmares...

Don't Mention It

by Maliam (orphan_account)

Love has a weird way of sneaking up on you, throwing you against a wall and punching you until you see stars. Yet you always go back for more.  He wanted to grab Spock and throw him against the wall. Yell at him and scream and make him realize that he didn’t have to resign. Kirk wanted to punch himself, violently and painfully, because why hadn’t he seen it earlier. Kirk wanted a lot of things but the only words that fell from his mouth probably made everything worse.  “Don’t mention it.”(ON HIATUS)

death disguised

by cptnjtk

Death is not poetic, Jim Kirk thinks. It is literal. Death is both the immovable object and the unstoppable force. Death is cruel and does not discriminate. It grasps life and love in its cold, unforgiving hands, stealing them away and leaving destruction and grief in its wake.At age thirteen, Jim Kirk learns that death, much like a sword, can be wielded - if it is so ordered.-Jim meets a strange Vulcan boy while on the run on Tarsus, and they must band together if they have any hope of surviving.

What Kodos Should Have Said

by JeannetteRankin

An AOS Tarsus re-write where Kodos is not a monster (still a dramatic asshole, though), and tries to set up a fair system to save as many colonists as possible. Winona Kirk reacts to his decree.
