It didn't do much, but he hoped it would at least hide his bloodstained button-up."Forgot some of my shit the other day," he replied, digging through a pile of papers on the coffee table. "How many scripts does Hector leave sitting here, for fuck's sake—"The pianist only hummed noncommittally in response, taking a seat again when another wave of dizziness washed over him. He sat quietly, anxiously flicking his lighter open and closed as he smoked. He wanted to disappear, fade into the background so no one could ever look at him again. It's fine. I'll just wait until he leaves, he told himself. Then he'll have another drink, though he knew too well that would only feed the growing headache sitting at the back of his skull. It would, however, hopefully steel his nerves enough to head back to his apartment. But there was one burning question he couldn't stop himself from asking."Why do you stay?"
