The sky is blue, leaf-bare is cold, and for the rest of her life, Mothwing will be the most beautiful thing she sees.—(Sorreltail was the first time she felt this, her heart pounding every time the apprentice agreed to go somewhere with her. She couldn't explain the taste it left in the mouth or the way her chest felt twisted up over it. Cinderpelt explained mates to her, but she didn't explain love and partnership.
