“So,” said Lydia, leaning back against the counter and crossing her arms, “you want me to come help you break into some random guy’s house at three in the morning because a sixteen-year-old drop-out is a great substitute for the female embodiment of James Bond.” Dirk raised a finger, lowered it, and raised it again. “I never said,” he said, “we were robbing a man.” Lydia gave the matter her full and complete consideration for an entire two seconds. “Yeah, okay,” she said. “Let me go get my shoes.” Lydia is losing her mind stuck in Farah's safehouse after returning from Belize. When Dirk appears in the middle of the night, she leaps at the chance to solve a case, and, more importantly, go outside. But as they search for clues, both Dirk and Lydia uncover more about themselves than they bargained for.

Sometimes. When they are being chased by aliens (again), or someone breaks into the unlocked office (again), or the client disappears before he can pay them (again), or she has to find yet another hospital to storm in on because they’ve used all their fake excuses on the last one and “The extradimensional knights did it” doesn’t usually fly with nurses. Sometimes Farah wonders if she’s made a mistake. Farah considers her life choices.

Farah marched towards the door, peered through the peephole, and then unlocked four deadbolts and threw the door open. The bedraggled corgi on her doormat wiggled forward and licked her toes. “Rapunzel?” said Farah. Three weeks after breaking into and out of Blackwing, Farah is... struggling. But the unexpected arrival of Rapunzel the corgi forces her to face the world again. Art by beanomatica.

Picking up during the last episode of season two, dealing with all of the questions left unanswered. "So, The Boy was in Blackwing the whole time, and you've actually known him since you were a boy. The jacket is Mona, who is another Blackwing victim, and who also got you out of Blackwing, which is currently being run by Ken, Bart's friend, who fixed Patrick Spring's time machine in Seattle. In Wendimoor Amanda and Todd turned Pararibulitis into magical powers, and now Amanda has gone to find the rest of the people like you before Blackwing can, because the fabric of the universe is coming apart. Is that everything?" "Yes, essentially," Dirk says, as Todd is saying, "I don't have magic powers."

“That’s me!” said a beanpole of a man in a bright yellow jacket, bounding up to the counter and sticking out, for some reason, both hands. Todd barely refrained from shielding his eyes. The man’s smile beamed out like a spotlight. He didn’t look like someone who wanted to ruin Todd’s day on purpose, or if he was, he was doing a damn good job at hiding it. So what the hell, Todd wondered for the third time, would possess this random British man with his bizarrely patterned tie to waltz into his coffee shop and order what was, objectively, the worst drink Todd had ever seen?Todd is a grumpy barista just trying to make it through the day. Dirk is an unlikely customer who keeps coming back. But as their friendship deepens with the Seattle summer, Todd's lingering guilt and Dirk's mysterious past threaten their growing closeness...(AKA, a coffee shop AU <3)
