Resident Evil (Movieverse)
by SilenceLeaflin
This is a tiny Resident Evil one shot inspired by the song Dead in the Water by Ellie Goulding. It follows Matt Addison's soul as it wanders the flooded Hive after he, as the Nemesis, was killed in Resident Evil: Apocalypse. He sifts through memories and emotions and ponders his friend Alice, one who had inspired him and whom he hopes to thank someday.

A little drabble from an RP where Alice and Matt were captured at the end of Apocalypse. I'm not sure if this makes sense without the full context of me and my friend's AU but I'm fond of it so whatever.

The first thing I remember is weightlessness. A strange, eerie sensation, as though I were suspended between two worlds—neither here nor there. It was like I was floating in an endless void, surrounded by nothing but the impenetrable black of the abyss. A coldness, sharp and unyielding, crawled down my spine, spreading through my limbs. I wondered if I had died, though, after a moment, I realized I wasn’t afraid. It should have been unsettling, but instead, it was oddly... peaceful. First part of the Shattered Genesis series
