Always Why Because I
by LyricalAmbrosia
What had Nai done to deserve Legato's loyalty? Everything. He had been given a life to live. A name. A purpose. Nai had carved out a space for Legato next to him, a life he was never destined to live but had nonetheless. A happier existence than he deserved. There were no words he could say that would ever come close to explaining the depth of feeling he had for Nai. The devotion he had went deeper than anything. Endless. “My life is his,” Legato settled for, offering a slight shrug. He tapped a finger idly against the coaster beneath the glass.

do you know you have 30 minutes
by Crane_Carlisle
'Because no one bothered to tell you about the piano before, you get the sense you’re not supposed to know about the piano, like a committee somewhere decided that the saxophone player is not allowed to touch the piano. Now that you know it’s real, you pace the halls with your eyes closed and your head cocked out like a roadrunner, trying to find the source of the noise and feeling insane.' Midvalley tunes Knives’ piano (not a euphemism).

let wan’dring legs take root (and call it home)
by BlackJacketsandPens
It’s not right. It’s not right. Something is going to happen and take them away again, because he’s not allowed to have this. He can’t have this. Something always happens.Something is almost always his fault. When you're so used to tragedy, a happy ending isn't as comforting as you'd expect it to be. But as always, when he runs, the people he loves find him. And maybe...now it's okay to stop and stay.

cue the careless whisper
by BlackJacketsandPens
Midvalley gets to meet Razlo for the first time, and very quickly learns a few new and interesting things about himself. Razlo, meanwhile, is having a grand old time at Livio's expense. I'm not sure this is how you give a shovel talk.

“There’s two of them, about ye high, one of them is wearing a white suit and a pink shirt-“ the bandit said pink shirt as if Midvalley’s greatest crime was of the fashion variety, not killing his buddy- “and the other is in a black suit, carrying a big cross.”“A big cross?” The barkeep snorted. “You friends with Jesus?”orWhat the fuck is going on with those two- the fic.a collection of drabbles about Midvalley and Wolfwood.

Demons Bound Together
by auroralightss
Even Midvalley had been able to see through him. Unable to help himself, Wolfwood pulls back the sheet just enough to get a look at the man’s face. He’s still handsome in death, though he’s got a particularly detestable face, so Wolfwood’s not really sure how much that actually does for him. His eyes are open, unblinking and dull, which Wolfwood carefully amends with one hand. The sheet hides the hideousness of what was done to him, which almost makes Wolfwood want to strip it away in its entirety. Not to humiliate the man—he doesn’t deserve that, detestable face or no—but because it almost feels…Disingenuous, maybe, to put a white cloth over it. Midvalley hadn’t been loyal to Knives or Legato; that much is blatantly obvious. He was more like Wolfwood in that way, a rat caught in a trap, writhing in an endless struggle for freedom… and it killed him. The white cloth is a formality, a symbol of respect, but in some ways it feels like it disguises the ugly truth of what had happened, the injustice of Midvalley’s death.---Wolfwood and Vash bury Midvalley and Hoppered.---Wolfwood Week day one: Demons Bound Together/Murder Machine/HUNGRY!
