On the dark side of an unnamed, almost forgotten Covenant planet, a group of very junior Sangheili draw a summoning circle, set it alight and are chanting around the flames, until suddenly a Spartan materializes in the middle.Kai-125 and Riz-028 discover the existence of this new cult trend that is rapidly spreading amongst younger Covenant troops, with the result that Silver Team ends up having marvelous fun pretending to be eldritch horrors so that they can scope out Covenant bases and conduct assassin ops from the inside.Knowledge of the summoning network also ends up being modified by Miranda Keyes as a method of rapid teleportation across a galaxy-wide network. ONI is not exactly pleased when they realize the new method only works on Spartans and only if you chant all the code words in Sangheili.

As he fights to gain ground, he encounters a strange conspiracy involving the Prophet of Truth and an aspiring Hierarch: the Prophet of Justice. Meanwhile, an Unggoy (Grunt) risks his life when he tries to do the right thing and inadvertently ends up becoming a pivotal figure.This fanfic was outlined a year after Halo 2 came out in anticipation of Halo 3 and was written as an idea of what Halo 3 could end up like. Halo works released before Halo 3, such as the graphic novel, made it not canon-friendly before Halo 3 ever came out. It should be considered as an alternate universe.Note that the warning about rape pertains to repeated mention and threat, but rape isn't outright depicted.
