on brotherhood
by LadyCrimsonAndBlack
The one in which Whitebeard Pirates meet Ace's big brother, and it goes... not as expected. To be fair, though, very few things involving Luffy ever do. (Or, Role Reversal AU, where Luffy is the elder brother.)
One Piece

make a choice (turncoat hero)
by WhirlyBird70
He takes the kid as Rouge breathes her last, shuddering breath, and goes to turn out the door. Standing in his path is an old friend. "Hand over the child,” Sengoku says, voice even and tired, and Garp has to make a choice. - Or: Garp accidentally becomes a pirate, purposefully becomes a grandfather, and still manages to be a hero in the end.
One Piece
Unsinkable
by RikoJasmine
The Straw Hats find out that their captain has one hell of a family. When asked about his mother’s whereabouts, Luffy simply grins and throws his arms out, gesturing to the endless expanse of sea around them. With complete sincerity, he replies, “The ocean is my mother!” An AU where Luffy isn’t entirely human, and water affects him differently than other Devil Fruit users.

For Better or For Worse
by Syluk
The Pirate King Monkey D. Luffy didn't come back to save the world. His only wish is to save his friends and assure their absolute happiness this time around. Even if he has to turn said world upside down while trying to achieve that. For better or for worse. (Hopefully not your usual Time Travel AU, OP!Luffy, and general chaos and craziness that he brings into the world)
One Piece
To You, Formerly Me
by Trixree
“Luffy.” “Yeah?” “Please tell me I’m hallucinating.” Fear. The smell of it, the sound of it. Luffy’s never felt fear like this come from Sanji before. He hates it. “He’s real. And I think he’s you,” Luffy says. __ A reunion. A camping trip on an uninhabited island. A question. And a gift, or perhaps, an answer. Wherein a Sanji straight from the dungeons of Germa appears in their midst and no one, least of all Sanji, knows what to do about it.
