The pheasant king
by Doc (Wrexy_34)
This poignant tale follows the dramatic downfall of a once-great man, who finds himself lost in the depths of despair after falling from the heights of success to the streets, consumed by alcohol and loneliness. As he wanders aimlessly through the city, he confronts the haunting reflection of his former self, grappling with the stark contrast of his past glory and current misery. In a moment of tragic irony, his life takes a fatal turn when he is struck by a car, leading him to reflect on his life as he fades away. But rather than the end, his journey transforms into a remarkable rebirth. Awakening in a medieval world, he discovers he has been reincarnated as a baby named Nagi, born into the harsh realities of the slums of Kingdom Marly.Through this unexpected second chance, the story explores themes of redemption, the resilience of the human spirit, and the potential for renewal in the most unlikely circumstances. As Nagi navigates his new life, he must confront his past and the choices that led him here, embarking on a quest for meaning and belonging in a world that offers both challenge and hope.

the goodest boy isagi
by retrosas
Nagi can see it in his mind, how Isagi would be like—all timid at first, then slowly getting riled up enough that he'd surge forward, getting what he wants, what he needs, in his own hands. From someone else. Something about that…doesn’t sit right with Nagi. And a lot of other people. “I didn’t know Isagi could dig his claws into someone,” Niko whispers. “I was only almost scratched.” Nagi feels strangely offended. “I’ve never had either.” Those were options too? Beside him, Hiori looks hurt. Nagi gets that also. (“Isn’t that a good thing?” They hear someone whisper. “Apparently not,” someone responds back.) In which people think Isagi is a bother but also don't want him to stop bothering them. They would kill each other for Isagi to bother them, Nagi included. And he is very jealous he hasn't been yet.

Take Five
by explorerseel8
"So," the man finally says, uneasy, with the vigilant caution of someone dismantling a bomb. "You want to marry Reo?"Marry? Nagi never said anything of the sort, but now that he thinks about it, it's not too far off. "He's my partner for life," Nagi tells him."Your...husband?""Is that what they're calling it now?" Nagi says, nonchalant. "I guess so, then."

but could you adore me?
by breathepurple (bleedpurple)
“You’ve lost weight,” are the first words Reo says to him, a whole year since Seishiro has breathed the same air as him. “That’s not very nice.” Seishiro’s mouth is on auto-pilot, brain still processing the sight of Reo right in front of him. There’s Mikage Reo, synonymous with all that’s good in this world, at least to Seishiro. He looks different; his hair is longer and he’s much warier. (He looks exactly how Seishiro remembers him.) Or: Somehow, Seishiro gets Hanahaki, a year since he’s seen the only boy he’s ever loved. He handles it extremely well, which is to say, not at all.

Halfway here
by explorerseel8
The next time Chigiri sees Nagi, it's at lunch with Kunigami and Isagi, and he has a silver band on his ring finger. Chigiri can't stop himself from bursting out with, "You got married?" and everyone immediately whips around to stare at them."I didn't," Nagi says. He's sluggish to answer, eyes dull and half-lidded, and he barely turns to acknowledge Chigiri. It's not entirely uncharacteristic of him, but there's something strangely robotic about the way he leans away when Chigiri reaches for his shoulder."The ring finger is for couples, isn't it?" Chigiri asks. "People will think you're engaged, or something. Isn't it kind of weird?"Nagi shifts uncomfortably in his seat. "I wouldn't mind," he whispers. (Five times Nagi loved Reo from afar, and one time he didn't have to.)

a husband in love nagi
by setosdarkness
How Nagi is effusive with his affection, if only one knows where to look. Isagi, Barou, Zantetsu, Anri and Chigiri really, really, really didn’t want to look, but they get blinded by it anyway.[or: 5+1 times people got by blinded by nagi's way of displaying affection]

underneath our doubled
by breathepurple (bleedpurple)
Nagi shakes his head stubbornly. “You don’t even touch me anymore.” Reo can’t help it. He laughs. It’s brittle, and all of a sudden, he hears the coldness Nagi’s been going on about. “What, did you want me to?” Nagi tenses at whatever he sees on Reo's face. “I—” he starts quietly, then stops. Reo says nothing at all. In which Reo tries keeping his distance, and Nagi starts acting stranger than usual.

by kokirane
“I- I- P—p-please go out with me!” Ichika says. The class goes quiet. She feels all their stares burning into her back, and waits, palms sweating. “Oh,” Nagi says. “No, sorry. My boyfriend wouldn’t like that, and upsetting him is troublesome.” Nagi Seishiro reveals that he has a boyfriend, but nobody believes him. Obviously, there has to be something else going on... right?
