Nick glanced over at his dad, who had fully leaned back in his chair and looked utterly relaxed. His long hair, peppered with a bit of gray, had a streak of red that Nick had never noticed before. It was faded, like he hadn’t dyed it recently, so Nick felt a little bad for only noticing it just now. He was still curious, though. “Glenn,” he said. “Why do you have that streak in your hair?"He looked over at Nick and squinted. “What? Oh,” he said, realizing what Nick was talking about. He grabbed the streak between two fingers and pulled it across his head so that it was in front of his face. “It’s, uh, a long story.”(Glenn is pretty much a stranger to Nick and Morgan. That doesn’t stop them from trying to figure him out.)

Taylor’s hair was soft. He had a lot of it, supposedly; Nicky wasn’t sure what the normal amount was, but Sparrow said it and he had a two-year-old, so Nicky trusted his judgment. Taylor certainly had more hair than Nicky’s baby photos boasted, dark strands that reached the tops of his ears and nearly hid his pale scalp. Nicky could never stop himself from petting his son whenever Taylor was in his arms, unable to resist the fluffy feeling.“It won’t be that soft in a few years,” Cassandra commented and Nicky cradled Taylor closer to his chest, kissing his forehead.“Never get older,” he stage-whispered, smiling when his wife burst out laughing. “Stay a baby forever, Taylor. I never wanna see you grow up.”.Nicky had an odd history with the idea of parenthood, but it was never difficult to adore Taylor. His son was his heart.
