(I wrote bits of this before I had read the end of "Adulthood Rites" or any of "Imago", so my interpretation of the Oankali has evolved from this point, but I don't mind.)TW: The source material is very...explorative about the concept of consent, under these special sci-fi circumstances, and this fic adheres to that aspect of the canon. As such, while no sex is explicitly taking place and nothing is done distinctly against anyone's will, the whole thing is kind of iffy just by nature of the premise.
