TEEN HIGH’S HEATHERS LEDGERS JOKER.Batman – Herman Unworthy Wait. What? Batman? That must have been a mistake. He did not audition for the role of Batman, he wanted to be the Joker. THE JOKER. Who is the disgraced human being who DARED take the Joker away from him? Joker – Normally Ly Oak Swallows García ***Or, Hermie is shocked to discover that a student with no acting experience or abilities managed to steal his dream role from him.

The mascot costume is ridiculous–the head too big for the body, the hands flopping oddly at the wrist. The person within jumps up and down, cheering nonsensical, simplistic phrases. When they see the opposing team score a goal, they yell, “It’s ok, teens! Next time it’ll be, uh–seen! Woo!” Hermie is entranced. “My God…” he whispers. “It’s perfect.” …Or: Hermie’s not here to make friends. He goes to a soccer game to better understand his character—nothing more, nothing less. It’s too bad Normal doesn’t get the memo.

Normal was fairly resistant to spending his summers away from San Dimas, but he finds a friend in the forests surrounding their vacation home fairly quickly. They’re a bit odd, but Normal likes them all the more for it.What he doesn’t like, however, is the revelation that they have a set expiration date.

“Hey, Hermie, I’ve been meaning to ask, how long have you been able to do the whole…?”“I’m sorry?”“The shapeshifting! D’you think I can do it too, since we’re related?”

“So you’re telling me,” she sighs (for the seventh time since he’s gotten to her house) “the guy you’ve had a crush on since the danc-” she gives him that look again that says ‘don’t give me that’ when he tries to protest, “the guy you’ve liked since the dance asked you out?”“I don’t know what the problem is,” Normal tells her (even though, yeah he definitely does). She sighs again, (eight) “The problem, is that it’s for his stupid method acting shit. He doesn’t even actually like you, and you still said yes?” She sounds flabbergasted. “Do you hate yourself or something?”

“Oh! You’re the weird Hell guy!” Link threw his hands up in recognition, almost smacking Taylor to the floor.“I’m sorry?” The demon asked over a chorus of vague confusion from the others.“From the Church of the Doodler, remember?” Link reminded them. “He’s the guy that the other weird fedora guy was talking about.”“That’s right! Which also means this is—” Normal turned to Hermie. “Hermie, this is your dad!”

Herman is nothing if not committed to the bit… or, so he thought, until the subject of his bit started being a bit too sad and far too endearing.

While a purr is often associated with contentment, it’s also shown to be self-soothing, with cats often purring when in significant distress. The same rules apply to teenage half-demon-half-non-Euclidean-chaos-deities, it seems.

“I’ve watched dozens of fake-dating movies, shows, plays. It’s a very popular trope. They’re always hampered by underlying feelings for one another, drawn out by the façade of their intimacy,” Hermie grins, “that won’t happen to us.”Normal looks perplexed, but nods, “sure.”______In which Hermie is exceedingly wrong about the above statement, and a lot more besides.

“So why are you upset?”They barely get the words out before Normal groans and leans away, falling back against the ambulance, one knee jutting up while the other stays on the ground, his arms splayed out beside him.“I’m not!” He insists, his hands flying to his face. “I- I’m just not- I dunno- How do you want me to answer that!?” He continues, shifting to sit up properly, one hand moving in a circle while the other pushes through his hair. “That- That being left out hurts? That I’ve been- fucking- trying for- for so- only to constantly-” Words are hard, he decides. He lets out a garbled noise and curls in on himself, his arms crossing over his chest to grip at his shoulders.“I don’t know what you want me to say, man.” He mutters pitifully.--Normal decides he's really tired of being on this quest, tired of his friends not seeming to care, and tired of being confused over his parents. So, Dood offers a little help.--This is set after s2e44! I really wish Anthony would explore the whole Doodler/Oak connection.[Due to mental health reasons, I am putting this on a hiatus as I work on more chapters, this is not abandoned, just on pause for a bit!]

It takes next to no time for Normal to spot him across the field, half in his usual Chaparral tiger garb, but with the head of the mascot resting on the opposing bleachers. He’s polishing his glasses, looking innocently about as though he’s the kind of guy to ever just polish his glasses without ulterior motives. Normal clenches his fist.He is not going to lose to Hermie Unworthy. Again._____A No Doodler AU where Hermie and Normal are rival mascots. So not that different from canon.
