Paris outs herself and Rory during a televised argument with Michele Bachmann. Peskiest of all is the fact that Paris and Rory aren't actually dating. A documentary crew wants to make Paris And Rory's Modern Stars Hollow Family anyway. Meanwhile, Rory goes slowly and quietly nuts. (And doesn't like Paris like that -- why would you even suggest such a thing?? Not that ... anyone did.)

Aphrodite had foreseen Paris' triumph – her triumph, in truth. The moment his eyes would fall upon Helen of Sparta, he would understand: this was the reward for his devotion, this was the woman the gods themselves had deemed worthy of a prince so favoured. She had not foreseen his rejection. Had not expected him to turn away from the prize she had laid before him, to spurn the very woman he had once coveted with all his heart. Nor had she anticipated that his desire would stray – not to another queen, most certainly not to Helen’s own cousin. Penelope of Sparta. (Or, after coming across a portrait of Penelope during his time in Sparta, Paris of Troy switches his kidnapping victim from Helen to Penelope. This proves far more detrimental than anyone could have imagined - a spark burning so bright that even the Gods on Olympus are caught in its flames.)

After Lorelai has a less-than-ideal reaction to Rory's big news, Rory turns to Paris for support. Luckily, Paris is the expert on all things pregnancy, and is more than willing to help pick out a Lamaze class or haggle down the price of a top-of-the-line crib -- even if doing so seems to make everyone think that Rory and Paris are having this kid together.

“Why do I feel like my coming out moment was a huge letdown? Aren't you supposed to be shocked or cry or something?” Rory asked. “If it means that much to you, I can try to be shocked,” Emily said. “But why would I be upset? I love Paris.” “She's just thrilled that you're finally involved with someone of good breeding,” Lorelei said. “You know I have no patience for the Gellers. Terrible people. But despite them, Paris grew up to be a lovely woman.” --- Follow up to Designer Babies, Deconstructed Salads & Domestic Bliss. Spoilers for a Year in the Life.

“Okay,” Paris says, again, gesturing towards her erratically, “Here’s the plan. We need to make good on that admittedly questionable spring break kiss of our youth—that way, people will assume that we’re a lesbian power couple instead of two pathetic rapidly aging losers with no prospects whose freaking hearts go all a-flutter when they see a cute boy.”“We’re not—anything in that sentence,” Rory says.

“Alright, let’s look at the evidence here.” Lorelai straightened up, pretending to lay out imaginary papers “When Paris first told you she was gay, did you have an issue with it?” “No.” “Okay – when you guys went to the meet-up, and I’m assuming there was some handsy action and not-well-concealed-dark-corner making out between these women, did that bother you?” “No more then seeing strangers exchange spit ever does.” “Fair. Alright, when that chick at that event tried to slide up to you at said event, did that bother you?” “No –” “And, just to be clear, before all this and Paris’s girlfriends and subsequent make-outs, anything else you’ve ever seen of the rainbow bother you? Will and Grace re-runs? The Ellen Show?” “No, none of it!” Lorelai stopped then. She leaned back in her chair, lips pressing together, watching her daughter. Rory thought it looked like she was trying to conceal a smile. “...Then, kid, maybe it’s worth thinking about the fact that, clearly it’s not girls kissing each other that’s bothering you, but, every time you’ve been upset, it’s been Paris kissing those other girls that’s bothering you.”

Paris navigates the perils of being a high schooler with a gay crush on her best friend (not that anybody's bothered to give her the memo on that one), all the whilst trying her hand at dating boys, namely one Tristan Dugray, which goes about as well as you'd expect.Societal convention is a bitch.

It seems like everyone is always assuming they're a couple. A story where Paris and Rory begin to realize that everyone, in this case, might just be on to something.
