Сама идея основана на строчке из песни ГРОТ — Постмираж: “Бывает лучше опоздать на последний автобус”. И на моём давнем желании написать с Патриком и Дирком ау про слепое свидание.

Dirk Gently is lacking in almost everything. Direction, purpose, and experience are all things far out of his reach and the closer he looks the more empty the universe seems. He doesn’t have anything now but a tugging in his stomach and an unhealthy amount of blind faith in knowing that he can ride that wave until it drops him. *** This is the last in a series of stories looking at the different people Dirk has been in his lifetime, and how they are all a part of him even if he tries to keep them separate. We'll finish with Dirk Gently, a man who is everything and nothing all at once.

Farah sighed. “This sounds… this sounds pretty implausible, but it also sounds like exactly the sort of thing Patrick believed in.” Both of them gawked at her. Even Dirk seemed surprised that anyone believed in his flighty life philosophy. “What? What do you mean?” “Patrick was obsessed with the force. He said he was part of an organization that took special interest in people who exhibited force-like abilities, so they could be studied. Force abilities hadn’t been displayed in anyone born in the past hundred years outside of the organization, and that fascinated him. Even after he left and became part of the resistance, the concept of the force enthralled him.” Todd was about to reply to what Farah had said when he saw the expression on Dirk’s face– he was pale, much paler than usual, and he looked drawn into himself like he’d just remembered something important and terrifying. The expression scared him. a Star Wars AU will a little less force and a little more mystery than originally intended.

*Written for the DGHDA Mini Christmas Bang* ♦ “All these things a customer does not do, and yet here I am, buying a flower, which is a thing a customer definitely does, is it not?” Dirk asked Todd as he got out three singles and handed them over. “So if I do all these things a customer doesn’t do, but I’m being a customer and buying something, what does that make me?” Todd thought about this as he cashed the money out, offering Dirk the change before setting it on the till again when he shook his head. “A pain in my ass.” he finally answered. Dirk only looked pleased. ♦ Dirk is the last thing Todd expected to find in a flower shop, but he might just be the thing Todd needed the most.

"If a year ago anyone told Todd Brotzman that he would be following a map and digging up buried treasure with an eccentric, auburn-haired, not-psychic-but-something, holistic detective, he would have rolled his eyes and called their bluff." • • •"If a year ago anyone told Dirk Gently that he would be digging up clues and solving a mystery with an amazing, brown-haired, combination assistant and best friend, he would have laughed to himself, with a mixture of hopefulness and disbelief, because in his heart he knew that could never happen and causality psychics are meant to be alone. |A two-shot taking place after the events of "Very Erectus" reflecting on the Dirk and Todd's relationship, themselves and how far they've come|
