Mochi Mishaps

Pecharunt wakes up from a very long sleep to discover it has been living on a shop shelf as a decorative peach. The old woman who owns the shop dusts it cheerfully. A small child calls it grumpy. Neither of these things are acceptable. Escaping into the Kitakami night, Pecharunt sets about rebuilding its empire. This goes poorly. A Caterpie ignores it. A Wooloo chooses a hill. A Magikarp accepts its mochi enthusiastically, evolves into a Gyarados, screams loud enough to disturb every Murkrow in the region, and immediately swims away. A Snorlax sleeps through the recruitment speech. A Mimikyu and Pecharunt scare each other and flee. Pecharunt turns to humans instead. Humans always want things. The human it finds is named Larry. Larry is Elite Four. Larry wants to go home and eat normal food and sleep. Power sounds tiring. He's not sure where he'd put wealth. He offers Pecharunt a sandwich instead and calls its glowing impressive with complete sincerity. Pecharunt does not get a retainer today. It goes to sleep on a rock feeling inexplicably, slightly, better. Somewhere down the river its Gyarados is having a wonderful time.
