Pema supposes she’s always been motherly, even before the birth of Jinora. She remembers being a teenager and her friends calling her mom because she took care of them in a way only a mother could. She didn’t mind that, she always wanted to be a mother, after all. After the Avatar came to live at Air Temple Island a few years ago, she quickly found herself being a mother figure to a few wayward teenagers. At times, she thought being a type of mother to the Avatar and her friends was harder than with her own children.Pema liked a challenge, and she truly did love them.Or, 5 times Pema loved Korra and Asami as her own children, and one time they loved her as their own mother.
