You never realised how much there was to do, Pumat thought, until you had to organise for someone else to do it. He hadn’t left The Invulnerable Vagrant in years. There had been that trip to collect components from Shadycreek Run, back when he was fiddling around with frameworks for the simulacra. Before that – well, he’d arrived in Zadash as more or less a vagrant himself, a self-taught apprentice wizard with a bag of knickknacks and a limp that hadn’t entirely faded. It had been years of work to turn his knack for enchanting and reverse-enchanting into a reputable business. And along the way he’d somehow picked up responsibilities, and commissions, and paperwork. Well. His old traveling pack was by the door. He’d donned a pair of his own Boots of Striding and a warm green cloak. Pumats Two, Three, and Four had given him an unexpected group hug after breakfast and then returned, as one, to the lab. He picked up his pack, pinned the ‘closed’ sign to the inside of the shop door, and began the long walk home. Gentle, Pumat-centric fic about family and friendship, set post-campaign.

“I am to kill a dragon,” she told him baldly after he finished. “I need a weapon of such a caliber to do so.” The enchanter’s eyes widened and his already hunched form curled forward as he absorbed this with stupefaction. “Are you fighting alone or in a group?” “I could request partners.” “You should. I can’t make a weapon spectacular enough to single-handedly kill a dragon.”

The problem with a wedding this big is that you don't know everyone attending. And some of those people are just weird.
