Depriving him of attention was usually a bigger blow to his ego and a more reliable way of shutting his schemes down.From the corner of his eye, he could tell Draluc’s eyes were twinkling. “How many languages I know. Aren’t you curious?”“I don’t want to fucking know.” Ronaldo immediately snapped. Surely he wasn’t that open of a book? He cursed how uncannily observant he was on useless things. Why couldn’t he use that ability for hunting vampires?Draluc laughed, making Ronaldo flush red again. From anger. And irritation. And…exasperation.

He scowls and snatches the bag from Draluc’s hands, tying it closed. “I got here through hard work,” he stresses, then stalks off to the nearest dumpster.

“What kind of game are they even playing at this point?” Shot nodded at the trio in the corner, back to squabbling. Satetsu looked over at their direction.“Eh? Aren’t they just talking normally?”“Huh?” Shot looked over. “No, they’re keeping a tally. That’s a game.”But that was right. Nothing about the content of their conversation really changed. Shot took a drink from his cream soda. “Wait, Aren’t they just airing their grievances?”“Nah, that’s definitely flirting.” Maria slipped to the barstool next to him. “The pet names make it obvious.”“No, isn’t that part of the game?” Shot wondered. “They’re not together yet, are they?”“They aren’t?” Satetsu exclaimed.Who actually knows? If the two of them said they were playing a competitive game of gay chicken, everyone in the guild would believe them. This was Shinyoko after all. Perverted vampires ran around with lightning nipples, flower-covered crotches, micro-bikinis, and played yakyuken. They’d just write it off as Draluc finally succumbing to boredom as a vampire and dragging the gullible Ronaldo to his whims. It wasn’t the strangest thing to happen to them by a mile.
