the body is a blade
by falteringstar (allonsysouffle)
Jon’s throat felt rough, like soil. “You were hurt.” Satin’s smile then was wry, nearly sardonic. “I was trying to protect you.” He looked at his hands, black eyes wet in the firelight. “Too late.” “No, you weren’t,” Jon said. The last stars winked down. Jon Snow rises catatonic from his tomb three days into the siege of Hardin’s Tower. Satin, sworn to protect his lord, takes him north of the Wall where the Watch will not look for them. To care for the dead is a thankless task.

noli me tangere

One of the women at his brothel who’d helped raise him was from Lys. She worshipped a love god named Yndros that was both male and female at once, and she was the most beautiful woman in all of Oldtown, or so Satin thought when he was seven. Once, he’d asked her how you were supposed to pray to Yndros, and she smiled serenely and said in a fading accent, “You don’t, sweetling. You just have to allow yourself to love and be loved. That’s what prayer is.” She dabbed at his nose with a cloth. “When we love, boy, that’s the gods speaking back to us. In their sweet tongues.” She was killed in an alley a year later. Satin finds himself in a precarious new position. If it weren't such an honour, it might prove desperately inconvenient.

The Blanket
by sarkywoman
Stannis tries to do right by his daughter Shireen, which means inviting her tutor Jon Snow over as frequently as she needs. Originally pleased with the boy's professionalism and kindness to Shireen, he gradually starts to appreciate him in other ways that make him a little uncomfortable.

What Lies Between Us
by Rosavalda_Freya
“Perhaps..." Satin began hesitantly. "...speaking it aloud, out into the open air, might help clear away the confusion.” He steadied himself once more. “Jon, I think it’s time we talk.” Satin could hear Jon swallow and could see the dread on his face, as though he’d been running from this conversation for a very, very long time. Then, the dread faded and fell away to resignation. “Aye...” He said, somber and solemn as winter. “I suppose it is.” (Arya confronts Satin and the fallout forces Jon and Satin to have a long, long overdue conversation)
