The soldier stepped through the wet and heavy mud, some which coated the already worn boots. He kept both his fraying rough gloved hands against his rifle as he squeezed past the men next to him. As he walked the sound of a machine gun barely stopped, the noise echoing across the battlefield. Why Did I Hate?

Again, this is another story I wrote as an assignment BUT PLOT TWIST it is not going any further. It is a bit ironic how historical fiction is my favorite genre to read, but right now, I'm not interested in continuing writing this since it entails the Holocaust, WWII, Nazis, etc. But for five paragraphs it is pretty good and I MIGHT add to it but not make completely new chapters.
