Despite how often Timothea Drake's parents were away, they did succeed in that bare minimum way of parenting by giving her the talk about the birds and the bees. Or, well, her mother did. It went a little like this:"Do not have sex and get pregnant outside of marriage or we are disowning you."So, five years later, clutching the positive pregnancy test (the second one she'd taken, maybe (hopefully) the first one was a false positive–) Thea willed herself to feel any emotion of any kind but instead, she felt absolutely nothing. Her body was reacting, sure- oh, she was shaking and a few stray tears leaked from her eyes. But the most emotion Thea could wrench from herself was a resounding, "Well, fuck," echoing out into the empty bathroom.At least her parents were out of the country.
