It took a moment for his eyes to wander over to the nearest window and get a good look at the downpour outside. Once he seemed to catch up with the situation at hand, he rolled his eyes. “For you Robert, maybe. But me? I’m no merrow. Need I remind you that there is no sun down here? The simulated daylight works just fine for me. I can step outside any time I want.”“Precisely!” Sean clapped his hands once. “Including during the spring melt season. Now go.”“I said any time I want. I wouldn’t call right now one of those times.”Robert let out a sigh and elbowed Sneve in the ribs. “Listen, don’t worry about it, Sneve. I’ll go. I’m the obvious one for the job anyway. You can start on lunch for the rest of us. How does that sound?”“Fine by me! And must I say, Robert, you do look far more dashing standing out in the melt water than me."Robert smacked Sneve’s shoulder with the back of his hand and only winced a little when his hand scraped rock. “I already said I’ll do it,” he said with a laugh. “You don’t have to resort to flattery.”
