In The Aftermath
by OdioEtAmo
The thing with endings was that they were always preceded by a beginning. It just so happened that beginnings were as a rule, almost always better than what followed them, unfortunately enough. A new programme replaces the Captain's precious Tank Battles, about life after the war and he is reminded of the person he was, and the love he once had. We follow him as his mind bounces back and forth between existing in the present and missing what is no longer. Yet no amount of pining can bring the past back... can it?

Scattered Ashes
by Eliza_Farrow
'Behind her frozen smile, Alison's mind swam in dumbfounded shock. Flecks and flickers of ash still rained from the sky, black snow, and scraps of charred stone and compacted earth glimmered up at her with all the dim beauty of jet. Beautiful disaster set on the garden like early frost, even as the heart of the earth smoked faintly from the detonation. It seemed an impossibility that something so violent had occurred in such an apparently tranquil place.'After the wedding planner leaves, Alison finds The Captain to demand answers about the bomb in the garden.

Baby Heather Button
by quiteheartless
Alison and Mike's daughter had a complicated birth, but Alison wasn't prepared for her to also be able to see the ghosts at home. The ghosts are overjoyed and take it upon themselves to help raise Heather. (She's not really a Button, but it sounds better!)

I do miss you
by SecretLyfe
“Julian where is it,” The Captain said, more a statement than a question.“Where’s what?” Julian said, poorly feigning innocence for someone with as much experience as him.“You know what,” The Captain said testily, “Now give it back.”“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

We're here
by SecretLyfe
“Pat!” Alison yelled, looking around her as she walked into the drawing room, “Pat I need some help!”She looked around the room; there was nobody there. Just another empty room in a, as far as she could tell, empty house.“Julian told me Kitty’s death day was coming up,” Alison continued, walking around in an awkward circle, “I wanted your help planning something.”Silence.“Well, if you’re just gonna ignore me I suppose there’s no point,” Alison said, hoping it might coax any of the rest of them out of hiding too, “I’ll just go find someone else then.”

"It Won't be Long Now"
by Brendan_Rendering
My interpretation of how the Captain died at Button house, wearing his army uniform, with no visible wounds.Robin on his tour of Button house on the dvd extra features said " What else can I tell you about library? One time there was a guy in here who murdered another, can't tell you about this." - In the title sequence a picture of Captain is shown in a cracked frame which could be a reference to the Agatha Christie novel "The Mirror Crack'd" - about someone being poisoned at an English country house.- Below the picture is a draw that opens, moving objects in the title sequence seem to relate to how the Ghost died, in Captain's case I believe the draw holds whatever killed him.
