Kanukei’s attention is caught, briefly, by a pair of leaves falling from the oak tree they stand under. It’s almost like they’re dancing — twirling around each other, the wind carrying them down, down, down, their paths intertwined with the other’s. A waltz of sienna, ferried by each other and the wind. — The wind surges, and with it, the last of the autumn leaves brush by, a storm of reds and oranges waltzing around them and the mountain like a final curtain. Oak leaves meet oak wood, and as Kanukei lifts his axe to destroy the piece holding his end, his mind flashes with a memory of plucking one single piece of fall out of his best friend’s hair.

He clearly hailed from Island Two, smooth purple jacket dotted with only a few specks of sand. The man put his hands up, a small smile on his face and a flat edge to his stare. "I come bearing diamonds, knight of Nevermore. And a deal."
