Nearly 10 years before the events of Freeride, Kad and Dak are getting used to life as Spirits.-------Kad groaned, hesitated, then rolled over so he was facing Dak’s back. One huge, furry arm settled over Dak’s middle, having nowhere else to go. The steady rhythm of Kad’s breathing ruffled his albino shock of hair.“I was stupid.” Kad berated himself. “Grabbed a whole shipment just sittin’ behind the Conbini topside. Too much for my inventory, so I did’n have my hands free.”Dak could picture it now. Kad running full-bore to the sewers with the biggest box of junk food he could carry. It was as hilarious as it was pathetic.
