Bus to Nowhere

by foldingfacets

Is it running from your problems if your problems consider you to be a dead imprint of consciousness that killed their son? Yes, but Danny tries not to think about how his nightmares of his parents trying to kill him came true when they found out he was Phantom. After being on the run from his parents and the government for a couple of months, moving from town to town, Danny ends up in Gotham City and decides to risk staying in Batman's territory. He'd take the wrath of Batman over live vivisection via beloved parents or being studied and torn apart by the government. Besides, he's not a meta. Being dead is a medical condition.

Pride Is Not The Word

by Haicrescendo

[Iroh’s phone rings. He doesn’t recognize the number but he answers anyway. “Hello?” For a few moments all Iroh can hear is shallow, raggedy breathing on the other end of the line. Then finally, he can hear a hoarse, familiar voice that he hasn’t heard in years. “Uncle Iroh? I need your help. Can you...can you come pick me up?”] Or, Iroh wasn’t prepared for another child, but the universe hasn’t ever cared about that.

time flies by (bye)

by WHYISEVERYNAMETAKEN

[BEING REWRITTEN AS 'OH FUCK TIME IS FLYING' BECAUSE WHAT WAS I ON THIS FIRST TIME AROUND????] "Maybe," Peter thought, "I can make a life here." Hence the tears and the guilt and the grief, because was Peter allowed to move on? Was he allowed to… to leave it all behind? Leave all the bad things in the past? Peter was "The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!" after all, and wasn’t he letting Queens - his people - down if he didn’t fight tooth and nail to get back to them? or Peter's tired. He's so tired, and he doesn't know what to do, but maybe things will get better. “What,” Tony’s voice broke and he coughed to clear his throat. “What are you- no, wait, maybe first just, who are you?” There was a long and awkward pause before Tony received a response from the lunatic stuck to the building. “I’m- I’m Spider-Man.” OR after Civil War, Tony aims to distract himself from the trauma by focusing on developing his nano tech, and somehow gets caught into a spider's web along the way. *** nominated for the “Best Homeless” and “Identity Reveal” fic in the 2022 Irondad Creator Awards!

Revival

by hatredwithpassion

“Boss, something is wrong! That’s -" A body morphed in the glass case - a tall stature, solid bones and golden skin layered on the silhouette. A fist shot through the liquid, smashing into the glass. The glass shattered into fragmented pieces. The figure fell down on his knees, hands splayed, long hair obscured his face. He lifted his head and inhaled sharply. Vivid green eyes stared ahead at the group of masked men. He was alive. “Who…who are you?” Eren, his mind whispered silently, Eren Yeager. (Eren Yeager gets tossed into the DC universe)

As Lexa walks past, giving the dog a wide berth, she spots a figure beside it. A girl with braided blonde hair stretches out on the park bench, fingers tangled in the dog’s thick fur. She frowns softly. Usually the homeless people Lexa sees are older males with scruffy beards, tugging shopping carts filled with cans. But this girl on the bench, her golden hair streaming over her back, looks so out of place that Lexa almost stops. Most homeless tend to stay near the city, yet here she is, in the middle of the forest. Or: In which Lexa takes in two strays, but it's really herself that's saved in the process. [COMPLETE!]
