All Tony knew was one second, he was upright, reaching his hand out to open the cabinet, and then Peter was screaming, barreling into him with enough force to send them both slamming into the wall and knocking the breath out of him completely. A loud explosion rang through his ears and the roof of the building came crashing down over them. It rained a cloud of dust and debris so thick, Tony immediately started choking on it. Peter’s body was on top of his, shielding him from a majority of the falling debris, the kid’s hands were on top of Tony’s head, keeping him as covered as possible.

But when they crash and Keith is injured — and that might be understating it a bit but it’s hard to think and everything hurts and God make it stop— none of that matters anymore. What matters is that red is outside when it should be in and Lance’s hands and voice are so gentle but scared too and Keith is wondering if he’s ever going to see Shiro again. Otherwise… maybe he’ll see his pop.
