The Talos Principle (Video Game)
by BeaconHill
When Byron dies on a terminal in the bowels of the Megastructure, Alcatraz grieves his best friend. Of course he does. But at least some good will come of it: the city of New Jerusalem, he hopes, will stop reaching for a future it doesn't need – will settle down and accept what they already have, the principles of the Tablets of the Founder and the simple fulfillment of their lives in the city. After all, with Byron gone, who would be left to carry futurism's torch? It turns out that Alcatraz's other teammate 1K has that more than covered, proving astonishingly wily in his pursuit of truth and the future at all costs. And that's all it takes to send things spinning far, far out of control. In a city where Mayor Hermanubis has built an empire around a religion he knows full well is false, and a universe where three untouchable entities control seemingly ultimate power through the Theory of Everything, how can young, hopeful 1K possibly change anything? And how will Alcatraz navigate between his philosophy and his duty to his friends?
