It started off with little things, really. Bucky would bring Tony a coffee when he went to visit him in the lab, he'd pop into the supermarket down the street when he saw the cereal his boyfriend liked so much was running out, he'd bring home a flower from the shop he and Steve passed on the way back from their morning runs. It wasn't anything serious, just little ways for Bucky to show he cared. He liked seeing Tony's eyes light up and that dazzling grin that made him want to cover the genius in kisses. Then Steve had made a joking comment about how Bucky should get Tony a vase for all the flowers Bucky kept buying him. One a day, these things tended to add up.

Except sometimes that number of meals is exactly zero, and other times he sees her but doesn’t quite manage to follow the whole conversation, but—it’s all group hangouts full of chatter from her little friends around these parts anyways! He’s sure that it’s hardly noticeable! ...He really hopes that it’s hardly noticeable. Or: Lucifer has a difficult, very normal day. He tries very hard anyway.

This is his dream. Felix is living his dream.He has to remind himself of that, sometimes. The stress is high. Between the dance rehearsals, the music video shoots, the live shows, the interviews, the social media posts, the songwriting, the recording sessions, etc. it can get really hard at times. And those are just the tangible things. The things you can put on a schedule. There are also the less tangible things, like the expectations and industry standards. Maintaining your appearance. Maintaining positive interactions and professionalism with staff and the press and the fans. Not being involved in any scandals.Felix didn’t always feel like he was living his dream. Sometimes, he just felt awful and overwhelmed and in desperate need of a break.__Or: Lee Felix's slow spiral into drug addiction.
