A Familiar Sound
by dandelioness666
Dick can list off, technically, a half dozen things this piece has accomplished, and comment on the career of Cassatt herself in great detail - but something about this painting speaks to him. Not to Neal - to Dick.“She is beautiful, no?” says an old, weathered voice from beside and slightly below him.“Stunning,” he says, as he turns to smile at the old woman. It takes Dick a moment for his mind to catch up to his mouth - and for him to realize that he just responded in fluent Romani. A language Neal Caffrey should not know.—Peter takes Neal to an art exhibit and very quickly comes to regret it. Meanwhile, Dick has a lovely (if bittersweet) afternoon and makes a new friend.

Remembrance
by Blue_Sunshine
There are things you know that you can't remember, and things you remember which you wish you did not know. ~*~ Obi-Wan Kenobi is assigned to a youth delegation to the System of Moia as it petitions entry into the Galactic Republic. He makes new friends, and, unknowingly, new enemies. Quinlan Vos is the epitome of curiosity killed the loth-cat, but satisfaction brought it back. He just didn't expect how literal it might feel to have nine lives - especially when they aren't his own.

Hands and Voices
by IamShadow21
There's a voice in everybody's head, and for as long as there have been people speaking, collective wisdom has said that it's the voice of your soulmate. You might grow up with them. You might never meet. You might meet, but find you have nothing in common. But, people say, that person is out there, somewhere. Since Phil was small, since summer days lasted forever, since he spent more time reading books halfway up trees and collecting Captain America cards than playing baseball or riding bicycles, he's known his voice was different.

Fluency

Kaminari Denki doesn’t test well. Sometimes he has too much energy and reads too fast and some characters look like other characters. Sometimes he forgets which language he’s supposed to write an assignment in, and he turns in his history exam written in Korean. Sometimes a teacher is lecturing and his brain translates what they’re saying into every foreign vocabulary Denki knows and suddenly he’s too overwhelmed to finish his notes or answer the question. By the time he entered UA, Kaminari knew Japanese, English, Mandarin, JSL, and Korean. Language and vocabulary came easy to him because people came easy to him.

See What Im Saying
by IamShadow21
Barton – Clint – has been in medical for barely two weeks, and he's apparently spending his waking hours formulating and attempting breaks for freedom. “He can't go home unsupervised, and the barracks on-base just isn't an adequately supervised environment. He needs assistance with mobility, medication and day-to-day tasks,” explains Doctor Patil. She looks distinctly frazzled. “We've tried to explain this to him,” she adds, almost plaintively. “He can come home with me,” Phil says, because his mouth is apparently running on autopilot today.

Heart of Camelot
by nlpiersee
The trip to the Disir ends differently. Instead of Merlin suffering in his silence when Arthur makes his decision, the goddess and the Disir take magic from Camelot. They take the heart of Camelot and give the King a chance to learn what magic has done for him and his kingdom. A year to learn or Merlin will remain as he is.

Five Times Castiel Spoke
by starsandgutters
In retrospect, Dean’s not sure why it didn’t occur to him sooner. After all, Cas has been alive for a really, really long time, and he’s probably visited his fair share of the planet. Wings are pretty handy that way, Dean supposes. (In which Dean does not, absolutely not, have a thing for languages.)

Babel Fish - A SuperCorp
by DKGwrites
It starts as a whisper in the back of your mind; the tiniest voice urging you to your soulmate. “You’re getting warmer,” it urges as you move closer to them. The voice is quiet though, so quiet at first, and you need to concentrate to hear it. If you choose, you can push it away. If you’re heartsick, broken, have lost too much, you just might do so. Then, when your soulmate is closer, and the voice becomes louder, when you’re ready, the voice becomes clear. It speaks in your soulmate’s voice and tells you things about them preparing you for the person that will be your other half and urging you to find them. Sometimes, another problem arises. You see, it speaks in their native tongue.

the times we wish that the murder was legal (and when it technically was)
by pomeiau
𝗶𝗶𝗱𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮: Welcome fellow students! Mr. Aizawa suggested creating a group chat if any of us would be in any kind of danger (I am looking at you Midoriya) or just to integrate with each other. Yes, I know it's a bad idea. No, I won’t stop you. Don't kill without supervision.𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗶𝘇𝘂𝗸𝘂: hey thats calling out

Nobody Speaks English In
by JUBE514
When universal translators exist and are everywhere, why the heck would one speak their second or third language? In which everyone speaks more than one language and Lance and Keith argue about telenovelas.
