“Sneve?” he asked, chest rising with a deep intake of breath, but he couldn’t find it in himself to release it.“Legundo!” The man grinned, face happy despite the crown sitting askew on his head. “I’m so glad I could make it here. It’s been too long, hasn’t it?”He swallowed thickly. It had been … way too long. The gravestone holding his name just didn’t do him justice. “It- it has. But you’re here now? How?” And maybe it was a dangerous thing to question why he was there. Maybe he was just meant to enjoy it.“I’m here for dinner, of course. Why else would I be here?”Or, in a dream, Legundo meets Sneve and eats dinner with him — a kind of dinner that perfectly reflects the consequences of the war to him.
