Ásgarðrian Galdr

What if Loki was able to warn his past self, so he did not lose control during his regency and was able to act as he normally would? What if he had been able to remain calm and in control of himself, and the situation? "How?" Loki demanded. "Betrayal," his future self stated simply, rage clear in every syllable. "But you must control your reaction and come to see me, or you will repeat my mistakes and we will miss an opportunity to take control and alter things in our favor." It would have changed everything.

A Warlock's Wish

by vividpast

In the midst of capturing a magical creature, Merlin is transported to a world where Camelot is home to thousands of magic-users. King Uther is nowhere to be found, Arthur is a prince again, and Queen Ygraine sits on the throne. Merlin plans to get back to his own reality, to his own Camelot. To do that, however, he must have access to information that is inside a shielded castle protected by powerful sorcerers. The only way in is to participate in the Apprentice Exam and be an apprentice to a magic-user included in Camelot's court. Should be easy . . . right? Conspiracies are afoot and Merlin just knows that, somehow, he is or will be involved. Just his luck. ARC 1 CONCLUDED!

The Necrofloranomicon

by leveragehunters (Monkeygreen)

Bucky didn't want much. Just to keep his head down, to sell his scavenged flowers in peace, and to stay off Shield's radar. His life would have been a lot easier if his flowers weren't dead and if being a necromancer wasn't illegal, but easy or not, he was getting by. Steve didn't want much, either. He was happy working for Shield, he had good friends, and overall his life was going just about the way he wanted it. Problem was, being happy with your life was generally an invitation for fate to throw a spanner in the works—and in Steve's specific case, it was going to be a spanner named Bucky. (A love story about flowers, trust, and magic and the choices we make about doing what's right.)

home is the sea reflected in your eyes

by anyadisee

Yoongi doesn’t know what he was expecting, exactly, when Taehyung called the day before asking about the pool in his mini-greenhouse, but it certainly wasn’t this. This being opening his door to find Taehyung and Jungkook on his porch, the former with his fist raised mid-knock even though the doorbell is right fucking there, the latter standing a few steps behind him and smiling rather sheepishly while bridal-carrying a mermaid. A goddamn mermaid. It is too early for this, Yoongi decides. [or: jimin dreams of travelling on land and yoongi is a genius witch who can help]

Heroic Cognizance

by Starkvenger

On the surface, Captain Marvel seems like an air-headed, cheery, carefree guy with way too much power on his hands. The League knows next to nothing about the guy, save for what he's told them (which isn't much) and many of them can't seem to wrap their heads around his contradicting existence. Well, that is, until they get a look inside his head.

Geralt stumbles upon the old, abandoned altar right beside the cliff’s edge. He’s just killed a basilisk and destroyed its eggs and nest when his medallion starts humming, heats up, alerting him to magic swirling in the air. He’s on guard, always, and, with steel sword drawn, he creeps closer. *Geralt picks up a magic item. He spends an inordinate amount of time time panicking because nice things start happening to him. ”Tell me, Louis,” Captain Styles said, leaning forward a little. ”D’you think I’m an idiot?” ”I—what?” Louis asked, surprised by the blunt question. He had expected something different, something along the lines of how he learned music, or how he ended up as a prisoner on the other ship. ”Do you think I’m an idiot?” The captain repeated, putting emphasis on each word as though Louis couldn’t understand him otherwise. ”Of course not,” Louis said, shaking his head. He’d be a fool for thinking such a thing, and an even bigger fool for saying it out loud. ”Captain.” Captain Styles nodded slowly, leaning back in his chair and folding his hands in his lap. ”Then why did you lie to me?” ”L-Lie?” ”Out on the deck. You lied to me,” he said. He held up his hand, three fingers up. ”Three lies total. I hate liars.”
