I Know Its Not Much

by TwicetheTrouble

At age 12, Karkat and his older brother, Kankri, are finally moving back into their old family home. It is at a nearby dock that Karkat meets a Merman named John, who is more than eager to make friends with the lonely boy. Unfortunately for him, Karkat's more than a little reluctant to make friends with a mythical creature.

Meet Me Where the

by LandOfMistAndSecrets

Karkat runs a kitschy underwater gift shop. It does pretty well -- most humans want to remember their visit to the reef, after all. With all the laws and restrictions and sanctions in place, it's not every day you get an opportunity to visit the mers. It's not every day you get to steal from them, either.

Hidden Depths

by whittler_of_words

John and Karkat may not have much else, but at least they have each other. With territory good enough to live comfortably, clean waters and plenty of food, life is pretty good. Until, that is, John gets hurt defending said territory, and maybe Karkat isn't all he says he is.

Rough Seas Dave

by KitKateC

Life's pretty easy underneath the waves. You have your family, your friends, the reef, and everything you could ever want.Well, except one thing you never really expected to need: love.Even more unexpected? It's with a human. Named John.Sigh.Honestly, I want to finish this fic. Realistically, I probably won't.

ocean man

by pedipalps

You're overreacting, you know it -- no rational person would yell at the ocean and throw their shoes into it from off the end of a dock. You, however, are most certainly not a rational person, and so you turn around with a huff and stomp your way back towards the shore. Before you can make it however, you feel something hard and wet hit you in the back, causing you to stumble. You quickly turn around just in time to see your other shoe flying towards you right before it collides with your forehead. You're knocked back, and you feel the edge of the dock smack into your spine, and just before you hit the surface of the water you remember you don't know how to swim.
