Pull Me Back

It had been a month. A month. And nothing had changed. No news had broken on whether or not the under-city was accessible from any outlet Zed had access to. Scott had been absolutely ripping Blackwell a new one in the presses, he was impressed the man hadn’t gotten censured yet. Then again, there seemed to be some sponsor going around that even Blackwell couldn’t shut down, supporting free presses that were publishing as they pleased, instead of the news outlets that were just trying to stay on the Council’s good side. Not that Zed cared. He only saw those things pop up as notifications while he was navigating his phone to his and Tango’s text feed. He’d been texting Tango every day for the entire month…and he wasn’t about to claim he didn’t hope, just a little bit, that each time his thumb hit that little paper airplane, the text would go through. Somehow, by some miracle, they’d break through the bedrock that was layering itself beneath his feet. Crashing. Crumbling. But why did I have to let this happen again?{In which Zed stops crumbling down and starts breaking out.}(Hermit-a-Day May Day 26: Zedaph)

I couldve showed you all
by Amethystfairy1
The ocean breeze was salty. The brilliant blue water stretched as far as she could see. Pearl was an avian, she was used to her view being obstructed long before her actual vision ran out, and yet she saw all the way to the horizon. It was balmy and hot, salty air she could taste, and her dark eyes continued tracing the horizon line with some sort of swelling sensation in her chest.Gem had brought her here just to see the ocean, she was sure that's why she'd taken the job. The nature elf was kicking and splashing through the water with her skirt hitched up to her knees, without a care in the world. And Pearl's hands were scarred and callused, but so were Gem's. And Pearl's talons were blood-stained, but so was Gem's sword. Yet Pearl thought Gem was beautiful. Then what, stars above and earth below, did that make Pearl?{In which Pearl tries to try new things, Gem goes splish splash, and really, sometimes all it takes is a happy coincidence.}(Hermit-A-Day May Day 11: Pearlescentmoon)

stupid metaphors
by Anonymous
Yamaguchi didn’t normally care for metaphors... He especially hated metaphors when Yachi drew some offensively romantic comparison between Hinata and Tsukishima. She said that they were the sun and the moon. How dare she say that? If anyone was part of a set with Tsukishima, it was Yamaguchi. Not Hinata.

There's a root to all malice. ---You don’t owe Dazai Osamu anything.Or rather, you no longer owe Dazai Osamu anything. He came to you bearing gifts: one coat for the cold, and a silver platter bearing the decapitated heads of your enemies. Destiny, he called it. The chance to live a little – and die, all the same, but in a different way, on a battlefield, with a shot at glory, as opposed to rotting out from the discards of the privileged. You could have life purpose and ambition. What more could you offer a starved slum-child?---

Fidel couldn’t stop the smirk forming at his lips. Ibarra rolled his eyes, a habit he picked up from Klay. Mang Adong was just content with listening to the Señorita sing. The businessman was correct; a promise of love.
